The new and enhanced Account Management Website (AMW) has launched!
Now, you have access to new features such as:
- Support for management of multiple America's Army game accounts. Log in to the AMW with one game account, and you can easily change between all game accounts associated with the same email address.
- User selectable avatars. The user can choose from one of 10 predefined avatars to associate with their account. This avatar will be displayed on the player's personnel jacket page, as well as any messages the user sends to other players.
- Enhanced training and tour detail. The enhanced training and tour detail includes completion dates of all training and tours, as well as detailed player statistics such as total kills and weapon accuracy.
- Personnel Jacket. View a custom personnel jacket that highlights any awards received for player accomplishments in completing training and tours.
- Player search. Using the player search tool, players can search for their friends or other America's Army players; allowing the user to review the personnel jacket of the player(s) they search for, as well as easy links for adding that player as a battle buddy or sending a private message.
- New messaging system. The AMW includes a complete messaging system allowing players to send private messages to any other player with a registered America's Army account.
- Favorite Servers / Battle Buddies. Players can access their favorite servers and battle buddies that they have saved from the in-game favorites/buddies systems used in the AA Master Browser. The AMW also includes an independent buddy list that players can manage from outside the game.
- New team management system. The team management system allows players with sufficient Honor levels to create a team of players. Upon creating the team, the team captain can then invite additional players to join the team, as well as assign team members to several ranks within the team. The team system works with the new messaging system allowing team members to send broadcast messages to the entire team. The team profile includes fields to allow a team to define a team website, team game servers, voice servers, and IRC information.
The AMW site is the place to create and/or manage everything. Login to AMW on AA.com, click YOUR ACCOUNT and start taking advantage of the new features. You'll never look at AA the same way again.
- Why does my game server not show up in the new AA Browser?
If you install the game server preserving your INI file settings, you will be missing a needed entry to access the new AA Browser Master Server. Please be sure the following lines exist in your server INI file:
[Engine.GameEngine]
ServerActors=Andromeda.AndromedaMBSThis will insure proper AA Browser updates of servers and players.
Once these settings have been added, restart your game server.
If you still exhibit problems, be sure that TCP port 20047 is open in your firewall so that the game server can communicate with the AA Browser Master Server.
- America´s Army 2.6 Server Setup; how do I allow other users to join?
When you create a server setup and want to allow other users to join your server, you need make sure the following ports are open for outgoing and incoming traffic in your firewall:
1716 (UDP), 1717 (UDP) and 20025 through 20047 (TCP)
Failure to open these ports will prevent the server from accepting connections from other players or prevent other players from being able to see your server online.- America´s Army freezes when first started after full or patched installation; how can I overcome this problem?
This is most likely caused by your firewall software. Current releases of Windows include Firewall software that protect against potential unwanted access over the internet. By default, the Firewall software installed on your computer must know about applications that require internet access.
The firewall software has paused the game process and is requesting your confirmation to unblock the program and allow access to the internet; however, the popup window may not be displayed over the full screen game display.
To correct this, you will need to manually add the newly patched game executable (ArmyOps.exe) to the unblocked application list for your firewall.
Alternately, you can quickly switch the game from full screen to windowed mode by pressing Alt+Enter immediately upon startup (before the firewall software pauses it), and interact with the firewall popup normally to unblock the game executable.
This problem has been identified on Microsoft Windows standard Firewall, McAfee Personal Firewall 7 and ZoneAlarm firewalls.
To unblock America´s Army on your Microsoft Windows standard Firewall (included with Windows XP Service Pack 2), open the Windows Control Panel by clicking the Start Button then selecting Control Panel, and then click the Security Center icon. Once inside the Security Center, choose to manage settings for Windows Firewall (this is near the bottom of the window). Click the Exceptions tab, then click the Add Program… button. Finally, locate your America´s Army game executable (by default it is located at C:\Program Files\America´s Army\System\ArmyOps.exe).
- What characters are NOT allowed in the server or user name?
- The following characters are NOT allowed in your server or user name: '/', '\', ':', '*' (asterisk), '?', '"' (double quote), '|', ',' (comma), '<', and '>'.
- What if I need help with my account or with any other issue?
- America´s Army is fortunate to have a loyal group of knowledgeable players. If you have any problems with your account or general issues, you should first check the Forums at http://forum.americasarmy.com to see if your issue is handled there. If not, you should take advantage of the knowledgebase that is available to you there by posting a question.
- Why have I not received my password e-mail?
- We have investigated many specific examples of reported incidents of password e-mails not arriving. In ALL cases we were able to identify that the e-mail was sent out to the appropriate e-mail address. In examining further, we have found that almost ALL returns indicate an e-mail account that was mistyped to begin with, that the user account at providers such as yahoo.com, hotmail.com, web.de or aol.com no longer exists (keep in mind that these providers routinely delete inactive accounts), or the quota had been reached for the capacity of the account. Some providers may inadvertently identify the e-mail as unsolicited and place it in your "Junk" or "Spam" folder so please be sure to check there.
- Could my spam blocker be blocking my password from arriving?
- If you are having difficulty receiving your new password after you've registered, and you use a spam blocker, please change your settings to allow for the following domains:
- Americasarmy.com
- Pr-sol.com (Note: Pr-sol.com is the domain for Pragmatic Solutions, Inc., Software Development Partner for America´s Army.)
- What if I don't remember my password?
- Go to http://login.americasarmy.com and select the "Forgot Password" link to recover your password. An e-mail will arrive to the registered e-mail address we have on file for your account. You may then log in with your user name and password, and can go to the Account Management page to change your password to a selection of your choice.
- It's been 24 hours; can I change my user name?
- We limit the amount of times you can change your user name to once every 24 hours. Please be certain when reporting any problems with your user name that you have not tried to change it more than once in the 24-hour period.
- I've registered; now how do I find my Personnel Jacket?
- Once you've registered, go to http://login.americasarmy.com and log in with your user name and password. Once you are on the Account Management page, scroll down to view your Personnel Jacket.
- How do I obtain my lost account information?
- Go to http://login.americasarmy.com to request your missing information. If you are unable to obtain your missing information and need to request assistance, please be aware that when making requests for Lost Accounts, we will do our best to verify your account and provide you with the appropriate credentials. However, due to the nature of the information that is collected and the attempt to protect the privacy of you and your account, we are not able to provide information on accounts for which you cannot prove ownership. When submitting requests for assistance, please provide your user name and e-mail address for us to better assist you.
- If I am installing a new version of the game, should I uninstall previous versions?
- We have found that a full uninstallation of all previous versions of the game allows for a clean installation of the latest release and minimizes most, if not all, login- and gameplay-related issues.
- I have a firewall; will that prevent me from logging in?
- We have found that resetting your firewall or changing your settings to allow access for America´s Army has cleared up issues that some were having logging into the game. To do this, you will first need to check to see if America´s Army is listed as "ArmyOps.exe" in your firewall's program control list. If it is there, please remove it. You can then either add the current America´s Army version to your firewall manually or, if your settings permit it, simply run the game and your firewall software will prompt you on how to handle its networking permissions. Please refer to your firewall's user manual to answer any specific questions you have about how to configure it correctly.
- What if I get a message that there is a "Time Out" or "Auth is down"?
- We are aware of the instances of "Time Out" that have been reported in the forums, http://forum.americasarmy.com, and continue to check out each instance as it is reported. Unfortunately, many of the issues are network related and outside our ability to troubleshoot. We have tried to post as many of the fixes that have been successful for individuals in the Stickies and will continue to troubleshoot as individual problems occur.
